According to TV Guide, Jon and the Smashing Pumpkins will participate in a Christmas special at the White House to benefit the Special Olympics.
This will be aired on TNT (the cable network) on December 20.
No word on who Jon will be performing with.
Hey, if there can't be a Christmas show, this isn't a bad substitute!

concert to help raise funds for Sen. Barbara Boxer's (D-Calif.)
reelection campaign. The concert footage--featuring Boxer supporters
Bonnie Raitt, Brian Wilson, Herbie Hancock, Richie Sambora, Poe, Kris
Kristofferson, Saul Hernandez (lead singer of the Mexican rock groups
Caifanes and Los Jaguares) and Was (Not Was)--is available for free on

viewers will also make an online campaign contribution.
